I am a 26-year-old Software Engineer. I was born in The Netherlands, obtained my graduate degree in Computer Science from Delft Univeristy of Technology, and am currently living and working in Zürich, Switzerland. My main interest is in Programming Languages, but I also have a strong background in web technologies. When I am not at work I enjoy doing sports such as hiking, skiing, and long-distance running.

I currently work at Oracle Labs as part of the Parallel Graph AnalytiX (PGX) team where we build a framework that enables high-performance in-memory analysis of graphs spanning trillions of vertices and edges. My work focuses on improving Green-Marl, a domain-specific language in which graph algorithms can be expressed succinctly, while also exposing the data-level parallelism that is inherent in many algorithms.

I worked on Green-Marl, a domain-specific language for graph analysis. My work involved implementing a compiler-backend to compile high-level Green-Marl code to optimized low-level C++ code that uses the distributed runtime PGX.D for its evaluation.
